At Integrated Security Consultants, we believe that the young people in our community are the future, and we want to do everything we can to help them succeed. Our team is proud to partner with the CEOs in Schools program to help students learn about our company and the positions we have. We were hosted by Shaw Elementary, a school serving underprivileged students in the Tampa area. ISC has had the honor of sponsoring many initiatives at Shaw, and we were thrilled to visit on such a special day. Our leaders received a warm welcome from students and staff from the time we entered the building.
The day’s agenda was packed with things to do and see around campus. We had the opportunity to visit several classrooms of all ages, and ISC’s leadership got to meet with members of the school’s administration team. Shaw spoiled us — from feeding us a delicious breakfast to sending us off with thank you cards created by students, the school took great care of us. It was so exciting to see how the campus is growing and thriving. Once an “F” rated school, Shaw has worked its way up to a “C” rating, partly because of the community taking time to invest in students and staff.
Pouring Into Students
One highlight of the day? The Q&A sessions we held with students. They got to learn more about the security industry, going to college, and how to achieve their dreams. This fifth-grade classroom was full of thoughtful — and often funny — questions for our chief sales officer, who has a background in working for the federal government. It was great to meet so many students with such a passion for gaining knowledge and expanding their horizons. If our team can play even a small role in their education journeys, we will have succeeded.
ISC regularly donates snacks to Shaw Elementary, and we got to see the results of our efforts. Every month, the school has a “potato party” — a special treat for the classrooms with near-perfect attendance. Students get to dance and sing with Mr. Potato Head before picking out a bag of chips to enjoy. The initiative boosts morale among students and offers an enticing incentive to show up at school every day. We’re happy to support Shaw’s attendance efforts however we can. Even if it’s something as small as helping out with potato chips, it can be impactful. Together, we can make a difference.
